That's what we set out to build in 2007, and it's still the idea. We're a close-knit team of engineers and designers just outside Knoxville, Tennessee, turning good ideas into real things.

APTUS DesignWorks is a flexible design team with the creative competence you need and the hands-on support you want. We turn product ideas into things that can actually be made: concept, 3D design, prototypes built and tested in our own shop, documentation, and help getting to production. We also design custom machines, fixtures, and test equipment for manufacturers.

We're mostly mechanical engineers, plus electrical and industrial designers, a shop team, and a Tennessee-licensed Professional Engineer. Our average time at APTUS is more than ten years, and more than 80% of our work is for returning customers.

## Our workshop

Our workshop in Alcoa, a few minutes from Knoxville's airport, is where our team and customers come together to build and test ideas. We’re growing, too. Another 1,700 square feet is on the way, with a bigger lab, more shop space, and a second conference room.
