Located near downtown Maryville, Tennessee, our facility was designed and renovated in 2012 specifically to suit our business. Originally constructed in the 1940’s, the standalone building includes a 2,200 square foot office and conference room area with a prototyping and measurement lab, as well as 1,500 square foot shop for assembly and product testing. An adjoining 3,000 square foot covered secure storage area is available for large equipment or first-article staging during our client’s production start-up phase.
All mechanical design is completed using SolidWorks 3D solid modeling software. Any version from 2007 through current can be used as needed to suit customer requirements for backward-compatibility. Basic Finite Element Analysis is completed using Cosmos-based FEA software. We can work from most legacy CAD formats including 2D data.
SolidWorks Industrial Design & The Foundry’s Modo are utilized to design complex freeform shapes as well as digitizing 3D scans. We are also able to produce photo-realistic marketing and communications materials for our customers.
Prototype measurement, dimensional checks, and reverse engineering is completed in-house on our granite measuring surface. High quality measurement devices, including a 6-axis Romer Articulated Arm Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), allow the measurement of complex geometry and irregular surfaces. Each measurement is made using equipment calibrated to NIST-traceable length standards as needed. For more organic shapes our laser-scanner may be used to bring existing geometry into the CAD environment for reference during the design process.
Our in-house Additive & Subtractive Rapid Prototyping machines allow for extremely quick prototype iterations, with the ability to use full strength representative material when needed. We also maintain close relationships with local and national prototype and manufacturing shops. These in-house and partner resources give us the vast array of prototyping abilities that moves projects through the testing phase quickly and effectively.
